Find local sources

You can refine your search by using Twitter’s advanced search page (https://twitter.com/search-advanced) which lets you search by location. Type in your location and a keyword, and you can choose a radius of between 1 and 1,000 miles for tweets meeting those criteria.

As Poynter says: “If you find local people you want to interview, follow up with them on Twitter and ask them to send you a Direct Message with their contact information.”1
